Happy Halloween

We were able to share the Halloween experience with our families this year. Oakley had a blast playing with both sets of grandparents!

Uncle Conner grew a pumpkin that was just Oakley's size.

I had a hard time thinking up a costume for Oakley. I knew I didn't want to spend a lot of money and that I wanted it to be used for dress-ups later. This is what I came up with. Oakley is always "making" something to eat so this was the perfect costume. I just got a $2 shirt from DI and bought some buttons. I then trimmed the shirt down to size, modified the color, stitched "Chef", added snaps and buttons, and crafted a hat using card-stock and tissue paper. I'm quite proud of how it turned out! and Oakley LOVED the hat. He actually kept it on!

Tuesday night we went to my parents' ward Halloween party. There were pictures to color, yummy food, a program, and a parade of costumes.

Oakley and I even got to visit with our friends Jami and Brayli

Wednesday Oakley got to carve his pumpkin, with Dad's help of course.

 These are all the pumpkins that Dan's family carved.

We decided to take Oakley to a few houses to Trick-or-Treat. He wouldn't take candy from the men. He latched onto one sucker and would not let it go. He had fun guarding Grandma and Grandpa Kunz's candy bowl and even helped hand out candy.

Baby #2

I love that I made my costume this year!   The picture on the right is of my at 15 weeks!
The doctor moved my due date up to April 18. The baby looks healthy and was just flipping all over when my doctor was trying to take pictures of it and measure it. We are excited to have this new little one join our family!

Oakley's Procedure

Oakley has had a blocked tear duct since he was born. We kept hoping that it would eventually go away. Finally at one year we decided it was time to get it taken care of. The Doctor told us that infection could set in if we didn't get it fixed soon.
Oakley had an appointment with the optometrist. His vision is perfect, but the duct is blocked. Oakley loved looking at all the instruments while we waited.

October 4th was Oakley's procedure. We arrived early in the morning because he couldn't eat or drink anything.  Poor little guy was sleeping so soundly when we woke him up to go.

They had us change Oakley into a gown and put little booties on. Those socks would not stay on! but I think Oakley enjoyed the attention and sitting in the big chair by himself.

 They came and took Oakley. about 30 minutes after we got there.
They put a mask on him to breath in the medication that would knock him out. Then the optometrist put a probe through the duct and down the nose (from what I understand). He said that he heard a lot of popping as he went through which proves it was blocked.
Once Oakley breathed out the medication stuff, he woke up. We heard him wake because he was crying hard. They then brought him back to us.The procedure lasted all of 10 minutes before we got him back.

We tried to hold him and calm him down but all that he wanted to do was sit on the floor by himself. He was more than content to just eat snacks (breakfast) and drink some juice. Poor guy. I felt so bad and and want to just snuggle him. Once he was eating he calmed right down and didn't cry again. They kept us another 15-20 minutes just to make sure he was doing well, then we went home.
Oakley was a little lethargic when we got home. Once he had a nap, he was up and running and his regular old self. His eye looks so much better and he doesn't wake up with gunk in his eye or have it overly watery. Yay for medical advances!

Daddy Time

Daniel is pretty good to me. When he is home he will take Oakley out so that I can get caught up on clean, projects, and just "me time". Oakley loves hanging out with Dad. They usually go up to the canyon to play. These are just a few pics that Daniel caught of Oakley.
