Oh Christmas Tree

Even though we won't be around for christmas, Daniel and I thought that we would set up a Christmas Tree anyway. We made our own decorations or paper snowflakes, gingerbread men and women and red ribbon. Daniel made the top gingerbread ornament. We had a lot of fun and the corner with the tree smells really good!

Busy Bees

Thanksgiving was such a nice break from school, though Dan and I both agree that we should have done more homework than we did. We went to Idaho Wed and then went to Oak City on Friday. It was fun to meet all of Daniel's family and as always it was fun being with mine.
Monday found us at school again with tests and hours of homework for Dan, and two Concerts, Rehearsals, homework, and my 15 page paper for me. Somehow we never have that much time to ourselves.
This week I have spent I-don't-know-how-many-hours practicing and playing my violin. The Chamber Orchestra played Gloria by Vivaldi with the choir so we had a rehearsal Monday night and a concert on Tuesday. Then the Orchestra concert was on Thursday (which was totally amazing!) I had a lot of family there and it was good to feel the support.
I also volunteered to playing the Messiah this year. Boy Was I wrong to do that! I love playing it but it hurts! Last Sunday I had a three hour rehearsal and the same Friday. Saturday was the first performance and we have another one tonight. I love the violin, but many is my shoulder sore!.
Now Dan and I are faced with finals. Hopefully we will have studied enough to pass them all! Wish us luck!

Funny thing...

I always find it funny that students pay to go to college then are so excited when teachers cancel class or beg to have class cancelled. It's just cheating themselves right? Well it is a short week and funny thing is that I only had 1 out of 4 classes today and then tomorrow only 1 out of 3 classes. What a nice break!

Stupid Upgrades...

Firday was a very frustrating day for me in English. It was the day we needed to turn in our works cited page and my teacher is really strict about it. He even has a ruler with him to check the margins. Well I can do almost anything on word 2003, but the lybrary was the 2007 version. It totally messed me up and kept changing the margins on me when I went to print and would but in a triple space when I only wanted a double space. Oh my goodness it was frustrating! No matter what I did I couldn't get the title to be exactly 1" from the top. So my teacher thought I was very dumb and said that I had to turn it in anyway and lose points on it because I couldn't work the computer....dumb technology.....

Just going through the Motions...

Our week here at Snow college has been somewhat uneventful. It was full of studying and tests. I had a concert to polay in on Friday, the Founder's Day concert. It was a neat production composing of all of the performing arts. The Orchestra played Night on Bald Mountain again and the chamber orchestra played with the choir while the Snow college dance team danced. It was a vivaldi piece so it was pretty neat.

Saturday Dan humored me and took me to see High School Musical 3. I loved it! Other than that, our week was somewhat uneventful.

Yummy!!!

I just found a new recipe that We absolutely love. I was browsing through my Simple and Delicious magazine and came across Chicken wtih Curried Rice. It reminded me of Our favorite restaurant, The Himalayan Kitchen, by temple square. So I made it tonight and it was so good! you have got to try this one out!

Chicken with Curried Rice

3/4 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

1/2 c chopped onion

1 TBSP olive oil

3 c frozen chopped broccoli, thawed

1 can (14 oz) coconut milk

1 can (10-3/4 oz) condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted

1 c uncooked instant rice

1/3 c water

1 TBSP curry powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 medium tomato, chopped

In a large skillet, saute the chicken and onion in oil until chicken juices run lear. Add the broccoli, coconut milk, soup, rice, water, curry and salt.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until rice is tender. Garnish with tomato. Yield: 4 servings

Pumpkin Surgeons

We finally got around to carving our pumpkins today. They've been sitting on the counter for a couple days but we have been too busy to get down to business. We had fun with this and discovered that our pumpkins were wierd. They were very stringy inside which made for a nice beard on Dan's pumpkin!

What have we been doing?

Sometimes the weeks just flow into each other and I have no idea what we have done. We somehow got to the middle of the school semester and have past fall break. Dan And I have been working and studying like crazy for all of the tests that we have. Our break was nice and we got to visit our family, but coming back, we had a lot of tests.

I actually have a concert tomorrow night and I'm so excited for it. It is a pops concert so the songs are well known. Among the selection, we are playing Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky. If you've seen the original Fantasia then you've heard this piece. The clip is were all the ghosts and devils and monsters come skipping out and are having a party. It always scared me as a kid so i never really watched this part but I sure love playing the song!

The Utah Symphony came down today and played in Convocation.
It was such a good concert!

So there's the up date on us!

The Best in the West

Yesturday was the Snow College Homecoming Football Game! It was against New Mexico. It was a cold day and began snowing big ol flakes on us. The final Score was Snow-58 NM-12. Needless to say we creamed them! Sometimes I wonder how our team would hold up against the U or maybe BYU. We haven't lost a game yet this season and have always won by a large margin. Our team rocks!

At Last!

Last Saturday I was finally able to see little Emersen Rose and hold her. She is such a beautiful baby and so snuggly too! It was fun to visit with my family whom I hadn't seen for a while. Dan went to his friend's bachelor party while we were up in that neck of the woods. He had a good time being with his friends and sending another one to the temple.

Favorite Recipes

These are some recipes that I've found that are so good! I just love this cook book~!

Easy Chicken & Rice Wrap

1 (6.8-oz) package Rice-A-Roni Spanish Rice

2 TBSP margarine or butter

1 (16-oz) jar salsa

12 oz boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips (about 3 breasts)

1 c. cannec black or red kidney beans, drained and rinsed (i used blackbeans)

1 c. frozen or canned corn, drained

8 (g-in.) flour torillas, warmed

Shredded Cheddar cheese and sour cream (optional)

1. In large skillet over medium-high heat, saute rice-vermicelli mix with margarine until vermicellis is golden brown.

2. Slowly stir in 2 cups water, salsa, chicken and Special Seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover: simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender and chicken is no longer pink inside.

3. Stir in beans and corn; let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serve in totillas with cheese and sour cream, if desired.

Makes 4 servings...Depends on how much you put in the tortillas.

The Beauty of Sanpete

Because of Daniel's job with the forest service, he has discovered some neat places and beautiful scenery.

Last Saturday we took a short trip to Box Canyon. It is ranked in the top 10 rock climbing places in the world. It was fun to hike and explore around all of the gigantic boulders!

Today we went for a drive up Fairview Canyon to see the beautiful Autumn leaves.

The colors were so vibrant and just breathtaking to see all around us. We took Sky Line Drive back to Ephraim so that we could wind our way through even more beautiful views.

My new niece!

Sunday afternoon Riki delivered a beautiful baby girl. I am so excited for them and can't wait to hold that precious little bundle in my arms.

Wedding Pictures Finally

I Love my Husband!

Thursady morning, I had my class before Dan for a change. As I was in the bathroom getting ready, Dan secretly made breakfast. He is quite the cook! He made french toast, eggs, and regular toast. He was so sweet and I love him for always think about me. He is the best husband that I could ever ask for!

They lived happily ever after...

Well since my last post, I have recieved my fairytale ending. Daniel and I were married August 9 at 10:45 am in the Manti Temple. It was such a wonderful day!
We had a luncheon at the Manti House, which was very yummy by the way. There we met everyone and my Dad gave read to us the poem which he wrote for the occassion entitled, Daddys Annie. It is a special poem to us.
Later that night we had a reception. It was so beautiful! It was just out of a fairytale! It was absolutely gorgeous. Our decorator was Andrea Jeffery and she did an amazing job!
After all of the goodbyes Daniel and I got away in our decorated car to spent our honeymoon in Salt Lake and doing things up there. One thing that we did was go to the zoo.
That tuesday we moved into our first apartment in Ephraim and set to work cleaning. Needless to say we've been busy ever since we moved in. Our parents brought our gifts and my stuff over wed. so we could begin our unpacking. Then lucky me, Dan got called out to go with his boss to work on a fire from Thursday at 5:30 am to 10:00pm on friday. I got stuck with all of the unpacking.
That weekend was Oak City Days and we went home to visit our families and join in the festivities. I was excited to take Dan to his first ever Oak City Dance!
We both started school on the 20th. I'm taking 18 credits and working about 17 hours a week and Dan is taking 14 credits and still working full time for the forest service. Needless to say we don't get to see each other very offten. Just in the morning, maybe at lunchtime, Dinner and bedtime.
Between work, school and study groups, we don't have a lot of time. Who would have thought that we'd see each other even less than our evening visits while we were dating?

Wonderful Day!

Yesterday I went through the temple. What a wonderful experience it was! The temple is such a beautiful place and being surrounded with my family and fiance made it that much more beautiful. My brother-in-law, Daniel, kept telling me that we should just get married now instead of waiting, and believe me, that's exactly what we were thinking. After the session and dinner at the cafeteria, I went and put on my wedding dress so that Dan and I could get pictures taken before the big day. It was really windy at first and my veil kept being blown out of my hair. I would barely catch it before it blew away. Dad shot some fun pictures along with the photographer.

Only six more days as a single woman!

Bridals

Last Thursday I had my bridals done at Thanksgiving Point. My photographer was Devin Peirce from Orem. The gardens were so beautiful and I had a lot of fun posing in my dress. Devin was such a fun guy to work with and I just can't wait to see the proofs.

Summer

Well I have finally started my job for the summer. I am working for the school district again with the Computer Tech guys. so far it's been....well work. nothing too exciting. Dan is working in Ephraim for the summer, but so far we have seen each other almost every week. we have now been engaged for a month and two days. The hardest part about this summer is waiting for August to come. I know it's wierd but is summer over yet?

Good News!!

Well I am engaged!! The little sister is getting married. My favorite reaction was Tyrell's. I called to tell him and Jordan picked up the phone. "Hi Annie!" "Hey Jordan how are you?" "Guess what, Jordan. I'm getting married." At that point Tyrell could be heard saying "what?.....What?......What?...." all that he could say was what. I got quite the kick out of it.

Phonecall

I absolutely love it when Joey calls me on the phone, with help from her dad of course. She is the darlingest little girl and I love her. Last night she wanted to call Annie. She loves to say hello, yup, and love you. It just made my day since I was worrying about homework. I can't wait to see her and her parents again!

1 Week to Go

Weel Finals are coming closer and closer and all of the teachers are expecting alot more right now. I am just going to be glad when classes are finally out for the summer.

For one of my classes we had to do a 10 hour service project.

(The little boy in this one wanted to make sure we got his daddy in the picture)My group decided to find families whose husband/father were in Iraq and make dinner for them. It has been a lot of work and planning but well worth it. Each family that we went to had adorable kids and you could tell that the mothers were relieved not to have to make dinner while keeping track of the kids. It was a neat experience.
